A team effort

Two riders attempt to rope a calf on Monday morning as part of a team roping competition held at John Kmita's farm about five kilometres south of Weyburn. About 70 riders in total competed in the event, which ran this Sunday evening and Monday morning. This was the last competition of the year for the Saskatchewan Team Roping Association. An annual general meeting was also held at the farm in conjunction with the event.

Strolling down memory lane

A tour group enters a deteriorating wing of the Souris Valley Extended Care Centre (SVECC) on Saturday afternoon. The tour group, led by South Central Health District VP of patient services Marga Cugnet, was made up of former staff members of the Saskatchewan Hospital and its incarnations throughout the years, who were attending a reunion at SVECC this weekend. The first such reunion was held in 1967, but this will likely be the last reunion for the staff members, as the SVECC will be abandoned in the next few years to make way for the new Tatagwa View facility.
