Auditions for the fall drama production at the Weyburn Comprehensive School have started, with a tentative production date set for late November. The school's yearbook staff attended a workshop in Regina on Tuesday. There are two events to be held at the Comp tonight, Oct. 10. The first is a Parents' Jamboree at 7 p.m., and parents of all athletes are invited to attend. At 7:30 p.m., the first performance in the Weyburn Concert Series will be held, a dance performance called On the Edge: Prairie Women, in the Cafetorium. A spirit day is planned for Thursday at the Comp, called Clone Day, for which students are asked to pair up with a friend and dress identically. A recognition of service banquet will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 17, hosted by the Weyburn Public School board and Comp School board. Coming up, the girls district soccer playoff game will be played in Estevan on Thursday. On Friday, the seniors girls volleyball team will attend a tournament at Regina Campbell, the junior girls will go to Yellow Grass and the senior boys will travel to Lumsden. There will be a home football game on Saturday against Regina Martin, starting at 1 p.m. at Darold Kot Field, and the junior boys volleyball team will play in Estevan. |
