The first of a winter series of team roping events will be held at local roper John Kmita's farm this Saturday, Nov. 17.

This will be the first of five team roping events to be held over the winter at the farm's indoor arena, with one each month until March.

The event is put on under the umbrella of the Saskatchewan Team Roping Association, but is organized by Kmita.

This team-roping competition is also being put on as a fund-raiser to help fellow rider Bob Larson of Mankota, Sask. All stock charges from the event will assist Larson, who has contracted a brain tumour.

The event starts at 1 p.m., and will be held in the indoor arena of Kmita's farm.
