Ready for outer space

Queen Elizabeth students Sajun Haupstein, Sheldon Obst and Davin Mainil show off the various features of their space station projects to their classmates on Wednesday. The Grade 6 students constructed space stations of their own design for science class, then had to demonstrate how the stations would work if they were built in orbit around Earth.

Festival of Trees auction

Allan Messer, manager of the Weyburn Credit Union, fills in as a ring man for auctioneer Kevin Lackey while C.J. Mainil stands by to keep track of the final bidder. The Festival of Trees auction and silent auction, held on Nov. 27 at the Credit Union, raised $13,988 for the Family Place. This is the second year the Family Place has held the Festival of Trees as a fund-raiser.
