Six arrested Sunday, face several break-in charges

Six people, three young offenders and three adults, were arrested by Weyburn city police on Sunday night, and appeared in court on Monday to face several break-and-enter charges.

The three adults are all in custody, and will appear in court on Thursday, Feb. 6, for a show-cause hearing on their charges.

David Justin Anderson, 19, of Estevan, was arrested and charged with break-and-enter to Jay's Moving and Storage on Jan. 25 and again on Jan. 31, break-and-enter to Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant on Jan. 31, break-and-enter to Steve's Snowmobile Shop on Jan. 31, theft of tools from Jerry Mainil Construction on Jan. 31, along with five counts of breach of probation and seven counts of breach of undertaking.

Barry Wiberg, 19, was arrested and charged with break-and-enter of RBC Service Petro-Canada service station on Jan. 27, along with three break-and-enters in Fillmore.

His co-accused, Darcy Bloor, 20, was also charged with break-and-enter to the Petro-Canada station, breach of probation and three break-and-enters in Fillmore.

City police said the service station had 214 packages of cigarettes and a small amount of cash stolen, of which 203 packages of cigarettes were recovered on Jan. 28.

The three young offenders, who cannot be named under the Young Offenders Act, also face break-and-enter charges.

The first youth was charged with break-and-enter to Jay's Moving and Storage on Jan. 31. He was released with conditions and is to appear back in court on March 3.

The second youth was charged with break-and-enter to Jay's Moving on Jan. 25 and again on Jan. 31, break-and-enter to KFC on Jan. 31, break-and-enter to Steve's Snowmobile Shop on Jan. 31 and theft of tools from Mainil Construction on Jan. 31. He was released on a number of conditions, and is to reappear in court on Feb. 24.

The third youth was charged with breaking into Steve's Snowmobile Shop on Jan. 31. He was released and is to appear on March 10.

Also appearing in court on Monday was Jody Sabados and his wife, Allison Olson. Both are awaiting sentencing on a number of charges including theft and break-and-enter, plus Sabados faces a charge of arson of the seed-cleaning plant. Their charges were adjourned to Feb. 20 for a show-cause hearing.

Meanwhile, the city police reported that a 1985 brown Olds Supreme was stolen from 327 Fourth Avenue South in Weyburn, with a Saskatchewan license plate 341-CRR, on Jan. 15. To date the car has not been recovered.
