Planning for the 18th annual Farm, Home and Leisure Show in April is well underway, with 57 booths already booked. Clint Swanson, advertising chair for the April 11-12 show to be held at the exhibition grounds, said Tuesday the committee is making several changes that it hopes will bring in even more than the 3,700 people it attracted in 2002. "Every year we look for new and exciting things for the show," he said. For one thing, a craft show has been added to the show, to be located in the curling club, said Swanson. "The craft show is really booking up fast," he said. The committee has also changed the door prize. This year, a portion of the entrance tickets will be drawn late Saturday for the winner's choice of either a ski trip or a fishing trip at MacSwaney's on Tobin Lake, near Nipawin, a value of $750. The popular Chinese cooking demonstration, by C.K. Lai, and the chili bakeoff will return to the show again this year. Swanson said both service organizations and individuals like to enter the Saturday bakeoff. The show is set for Friday, April 11 and Saturday, April 12. On Friday, it will be open from noon to 9 p.m. and on Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. |
