The Southeast Unit of the Canadian Cancer Society will hold a special annual meeting for the latter part of part of last year, in Estevan on Wednesday, March 5.

Manager Margaret Hill said Thursday the change in the society's official year-end, for accounting purposes, makes it necessary to hold a second annual meeting for the last few months of 2002 and Jan. 2003. The annual meeting for the first part of 2002 was held in Weyburn last fall.

New officers will be elected and the volunteer development co-ordinator from the Regina office, Lorna Sandberg, will be guest speaker.

Division awards and certificates of appreciation for Estevan volunteers will be presented at the meeting. The awards are to recognize volunteers' long time commitment to the society, said Hill.

The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. at Allie's Dining. Those interested in attending the meeting are asked to call Hill at the Weyburn office.
