Going on to the regional fair

Grades 4 and 5 students from Assiniboia Park Elementary School displayed their Heritage Fair projects in the school gym Wednesday evening. The projects of the following students were selected to go on to the regional Heritage Fair in Regina on May 2. In the back row, from the left, the students are: Erica Williams, Marissa Dodge, Mike Onstad, Derek Hansen, Michael Georgacacos, Brett Jones. Second row, from the left, are: Alyssa Postnikoff, Brooke Peterson, and Skyelar Verbeurgt. Sitting in front, from the left, are Maria Siourounis, Calyssa Cross, Lawren Ward, Jordon Mallory, Michelle Roemer, Taylor Verbeurgt, Ciara Wallin. APES is the only school in this region to participate in the provincial Heritage Fair.

Swearing in the new chief

Retired provincial court judge Wallace Goliath swears in Rod Horsman as the new chief of the Weyburn Police Service during a ceremony at city hall on April 1. The ceremony was attended by Horsman's family, fellow officers in Weyburn's Police Service and RCMP and members of the public.
