Badminton players from the Weyburn Comprehensive School scored high marks at an 18-team high school tournament in Moose Jaw over the weekend. The Comp took two teams to the event, for a total of 16 players. Jeff Moser won his second singles tournament of the year, going undefeated in eight consecutive matches. Jenna Unraw and Stephanie Giroux won bronze in girl's doubles. Evan Reich, competing in boy's singles, qualified for the playoffs, going 5-0 in his pool. "The whole badminton team was very competitive, particularly Bucky Schneider and Cameron Koski in boys' doubles," said badminton coach Len Williams. The team is coached by Wiliams with help from former students Jody Anderson and Chris Moser. |
