A springtime snowfall

Haig School students Mikki Spencer, Tessa Jensen and Jenny Johnson play in the fresh, wet snow falling in the school yard on Wednesday. A total of 16.6 cm of the white stuff fell on the city and area in the one-day snow storm, with temperatures rising to more spring-like levels by the weekend to melt it all away.

New lake takes shape

The large pond built for the new Tatagwa View long-term care facility sparkles in the spring sunshine on Monday, showing promise of nice spots to visit for walkers or nature lovers on the Souris Valley grounds. Construction is set to begin on the facility this year and should be done by 2004; the facility will house 135 long-term care beds to replace those currently housed in the Souris Valley Extended Care Centre.
