DeLaet wins third title at tournament

It was a lousy day for golf in Idaho on April 15, but a good day for Graham DeLaet.

The Weyburn golfer, who is attending Boise State University, won his third tournament title of the season that day at the George Von Elm Intercollegiate Golf Tournament. With this victory, DeLaet tied his school's record for most tournament wins in a season.

The final day of the tournament was battered by sleet, rain and snow, but DeLaet managed to keep ahead of his opponents with a final round of five-over par 77. It wasn't his best performance at the tournament; in the first two days, he posted back-to-back rounds of 65.

Although DeLaet won the individual title of the tournament, the Boise State team didn't fare as well, finishing in second place in the seven-team event.

Graham's father Norm said this tournament was the second-last on a college tour Graham is currently on, with the final tournament this April 26-27 weekend. He will then play in conference finals next week on Monday and Tuesday, April 28-29.
