Registrations are filling up for the awards banquet and golf tournament being held in conjunction with the Saskatchewan Oil and Gas Show, says show manager Marlene Nedelcov. Board member Laurence Woodard is in charge of organizing the golf tournament, which will be held at the Weyburn Golf Club on Tuesday, June 3, said Nedelcov. The tournament is just a fun event and is held solely for exhibitors, who may sign up for golf by phoning the Oil Show board office, she said. On the same day of the tournament, there will also be a steak and lobster supper in the evening, served by the Weyburn Red Wings hockey club. There will be an awards banquet the following evening on Wednesday, June 4, put on by the Weyburn Young Fellows Club. These events are open to anyone, with tickets costing $25 for the steak and lobster supper and $15 for the awards banquet. Anyone interested in attending either of these two dinners may call the office, preferably well in advance. "We prefer everybody to get them ahead of time," said Nedelcov. Nedelcov also said spaces for exhibitors at the show are nearly filled, with only five or six spaces available at the Tom Zandee Sports Arena. "We're getting inquiries almost every day, so it won't be long until it's full," she said. The biennial Saskatchewan Oil and Gas Show, recognized as one of the largest petroleum industry trade shows in Canada, will be held at the Weyburn Exhibition Grounds on Wednesday and Thursday, June 4 and 5. |
