School is back after the Easter break and 110 music students along with 10 chaperones are off for their annual spring tour to Edmonton. While in Edmonton, the bands and choirs will perform on three different occasions, attend a dinner theatre, watch the Edmonton Trappers play and frolic in the water park at West Edmonton Mall. This hastily arranged trip was put in place to fill in for the cancelled trip to Toronto. Winners of the recent music trip raffle were Nancy Molder (digital camera), Jason Forseth (DVD), and Cherrilynn Kwochka ($100 gift certificate). WCS students along with their chaperones have returned from their annual French trip and a great time was had by all. Over the holidays, the cast of the Wizard of Oz held a number of practices in preparation for their opening night in four weeks. Over 700 tickets have been sold but good seats are still available. On Wednesday, the Weyburn Concert Series will hold its final concert of the year, starting at 7:30 p.m. It is an appreciation concert by pianist Lee Pui Ming who has been described as a "performer of uncommon imagination and intensity." Admission prices have been reduced and a dessert will be served following the concert. Order forms for graduation banquet tickets will be out soon and parents are encouraged to return them as soon as possible. Graduation this year will be held on Wednesday, June 25. |
