Mitchell, a long-time resident of Weyburn, is an MS patient. There were 127 walkers in the annual fund-raiser.

Drive-through Girl Guide cookies

Wes Veer is handed two boxes of Girl Guides cookies by Girl Guide members, Katie Lee, Jenna Hehn and Tanya Musk on Saturday. The Guides did door-to-door sales Friday, and sold them from their trailer on Saturday in River Park. The girls sold about 115 cases of the cookies, which is slightly down from last year, with proceeds going towards Girl Guide programs and activities. The girls will be out on Saturday, May 10, selling carnations for Mother's Day, and at the Green Exchange garage sale at Knox Hall, held as part of the city's annual cleanup campaign.
