The Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal has finished its two-week campaign blitz that took place over the course of May. "We raised $9,400 so far, so we're not quite halfway there," Captain Gerald McDonald. The goal for the campaign was $20,000 but McDonald said he still feels good about all the donations received. The residential blitz had canvassers going door-to-door around Weyburn and that is now finished, McDonald said. However, the Red Shield Appeal is an ongoing project throughout the year, and donations can be taken to the church. The Donor's Choice program is available in rural areas around Weyburn, so there "still is a chance for people to give outside Weyburn," as well, McDonald said. |
