Proceeds from Y. Moore print to benefit hospital

The emergency care unit at the Weyburn General Hospital will benefit from the sale of an Yvette Moore print at the Saskatchewan Oil and Gas Show today and tomorrow, June 4 and 5.

Moore will donate $20 from every print sold of the painting, Shift Change, to the Oil and Gas Show board, and they in turn have agreed to donate those funds raised to the hospital in memory of Dale Honig, who was recently killed in an accident on a drilling rig.

The picture is of a Precision drilling rig, and was featured in Moore's latest collaboration with Weyburn author Joanne Bannatyne-Cugnet, entitled Heartland: A Prairie Sampler.

Moore knows Dale's parents very well, and noted the rig pictured in her painting, No. 219, is the same rig Dale was working on.

"It would be neat to do something for the hospital in his memory. Let's hope this doesn't happen again, and if we can something to help, let's do it," said Moore.

She will feature the painting, and will have copies of the book, at booths 213-214 in the Sports Arena.
