The community of Tyvan will be holding a get together in 70's style on Saturday, July 19.

With a theme from the 1970's, organizers are encouraging everyone to come out in costumes from the decade.

Events start at 2 p.m. and will carry on throughout the afternoon at the Tyvan Hall, with a supper at 5:30 p.m.

A chili cooking contest, bingo and water melon-eating contest are a few of the events to be featured.

There will be activities for the kids, including an art seminar in which they can learn to paint and draw pictures.

Chess and checkers games will also take place, along with a treasure hunt.

A cash bar will be available and after the supper casino tables will be set up for some fun for the adults.
