Locals help win prov'l slow-pitch

Weyburn played host to the men's masters 35 and over slo-pitch provincial championships over the weekend, with several local players aiding the championship teams.

Several local players, including Bert Kauf, Russ Chartrand, Brad Churko and coach Ernie McDonald assisted the Saskatoon Dirtbags to their provincial championship.

The Regina Panthers took second place and the Weyburn Men's team placed third.

In the co-ed division qualifier, the Weyburn K-9s won first place, with the Saskatoon Stingers placing second.

In the ladies division qualifier, the Weyburn Ladies All-Stars won first place by beating the Regina Health Angels.

Finally, in the men's national qualifier, the Muk Muks from Estevan placed first and the Crayon Crew from Weyburn placed second.
