Province competes in job challenge

Offices of the Human Resource Centre of Canada for Students (HRCC-S) across Saskatchewan, including the centre located in Weyburn, participated in the Inter-Provincial Job Challenge at the end of July.

The challenge to get the most jobs in three days against the Alberta Hire-a-Student Centre and Manitoba Student/Youth Human Resource Centre ran over July 28-30.

Alberta won the title this year, Saskatchewan came in second and Manitoba placed third. Saskatchewan created 720 jobs while there were 2,076 jobs created in total.

The event was intended to promote the importance of employment of young people and the services the student employment office provides. The HRCC-S is part of the Government of Canada's Youth Employment Strategy.

The Weyburn student employment office is open and filling jobs for young people until August 22.
