Children attending Weyburn's Separate and Public school divisions will see some new faces in their schools when classes begin this fall. The Weyburn Roman Catholic Separate School Division No. 84 will have two new, full-time teachers in its Weyburn schools this fall. Tessa Kerowatski will teach the middle years at St. Michael School while Sherril Verhulst will teach learning resources at St. Dominic Savio Separate School. Verhulst is filling in for a teacher on maternity leave. Denis Tremblay will be the new principal at St. Michael Junior High School, replacing Roman Mahnic. All classes in the Separate system begin on Tuesday, Sept. 2. In Weyburn Public School Division No. 97, six new teachers join the staff at the Weyburn Comprehensive School. Kristy Knops, Andrea Tessier, Larry Balog, Nicole Lipinski, Karen Kennedy-Allin, and Sandy Stewart are the new teachers. Weyburn Junior High School will see Camille Sperling, Bryan Fleck, Tera Hale, Connie Arndt, and Stephanie Knibbs join the staff, while Alison Dyker and Loretta Kot will teach this year at Souris Elementary School. Three new staff will be added to the division office. Lynne Buchanan will be superintendent of student services, special education. Colleen Olson will serve as curriculum coordinator and Amber Keating will be the division's speech language pathologist. Registration for the Public system, including the WCS, will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 2, with classes starting on Wednesday, Sept. 3. |
