It's back to school time!

Wade Letkeman holds a shiny apple for his new teacher while his older brother, Chad, checks his backpack of school supplies. Wade and Chad started classes today at Haig School and will be in Grades 2 and 5 respectively. Students throughout Weyburn and area held registration and first day of classes this week.

Preparing the track

Gordy Netzell, on the right, of Calgary and Michael Maxwell Smith of Vancouver, lay the binder in preparation for the second of three coats of rubber Wednesday on the new track for the 2004 Saskatchewan Summer Games. The track, next to the Weyburn Comprehensive School, should be ready for use this week. Volunteers were organized to watch the track when work crews were not around, to make sure no marks were made by dogs or people riding bikes or walking on it. Curing takes about three days.
