Parading down First Avenue

Weyburn Comp students stand along First Avenue and cheer as vice-principal Wade Oberg, shop teacher Monty Hortness and principal Ken Larson parade by in drag on Wednesday, as a payoff of a bet with the students for the annual magazine sale campaign. The three, along with vice-principal Jessie Shupe, told the students they would dress in drag if they sold more than 1,200 magazine subscriptions; the students actually sold more than 1,400, setting the stage for the bet payoff.

Touching up the Youth Centre

Jim Rubin applies stucco to the exterior of the Weyburn Youth Centre's second building, assisted by his son Nathan, on Wednesday. The Young Fellows Club of Weyburn donated the materials to do the finishing, while the Rubins donated the labour to apply the stucco, so the second building matches the main building.
