Weird, and scary, veggies on display

Jeanne Yeik and Norma Sealy have a look at the display of the Weyburn Horticultural Society at the Charity Bazaar held at the Weyburn Square Mall on Wednesday. The society had these decorated pumpkins on display, along with various unusual and large vegetables brought in for judging.

Class assignment

Grade 12 students Ryan Buchanan, Carly Schneider, Kristin Beahm and Vicky Schultz listen as teacher Brenda King talks about the Wilson silver collection and the collector himself on Oct. 7 at the Soo Line Museum. The students weren't there to learn, however, but to aid learning; the class were creating packages of assignments and activities (scavenger hunts, quizzes and so on) to be used by elementary school teachers when they visit the museum with their students. This activity was being done as part of Education Week, Oct. 5-12.
