Two local rinks, both of whom curl at the Weyburn Curling Club, will be representing their region at the Senior Men's Southern Provincial Playdowns on Dec. 11-14.

The Kevin Smart and Dave Rommann rinks won their spots at the Southern Playdowns by winning the Region No. 3 Men's Senior Playdowns in Kronau over the weekend.

Curling alongside Smart were Wayne Kerr, Rick Williams and Dennis Lizuck.

Curling alongside Rommann were Gary Kreutzer, Brian Bakken and Kevin Bakken.

There were four teams competing at the regionals in Kronau, including the Jack Moffat rink from Weyburn and the Gord Young rink from Radville.

Smart's team won the A side of the regionals, while the Rommann team won the B side.

The Southern Playdowns will be held in Esterhazy.
