A balancing act

Emma Scharf, a competitive advanced gymcat, strikes a pose while doing a scale on the balancing beam, as parents and fellow members of the Weyburn Gymnastics Club watch on Saturday afternoon. The club performed at a windup to show the parents the skills the members have been learning at the club. Members will be taking in a number of out-of-town gymnastic meets in the new year. The Weyburn club is still taking registrations for the new sessions which will begin on Jan. 9, 2004.

Concert band's trumpet section

Part of the Weyburn Comprehensive School's concert band trumpet section plays a concert march, The Garnet and Gold, as part of the WCS Winter Concert on Wednesday evening. From left to right are Kaila Weimer, Josh Brown, Justine Stephanson and Alix Lackey. Other groups which also performed at the concert were the various choirs, the jazz band, and a combined concert band and choir number wrapped up the evening.
