Seven members of the Weyburn Wrestling Club have passed through the first trials for the 2005 Jeux du Canada Games.

The wrestlers were in Regina on Dec. 20 for the first round of trials to make it to the Games. The trials were held at the University of Regina.

All seven placed in the top six placings, which enable them to compete in the second round of trials sometime in the new year.

Kaley Mahaffey and Anna Semen won gold in their class, while Jade Ivan finished in fourth place for her category.

Jared Wagner was second, Mike Fenwick was third, Andy Hodgson was fifth and Atley Roettger was third in their respective classes.

The 2005 Jeux du Canada Games will be hosted by the City of Regina in August of that year.
