The Rotary Club of Weyburn has decided to hold its annual Polka Fest again this summer, after all.

Rotary secretary Jim Hutchings said Thursday the club has received great community interest in the festival. "We've had a change of heart. We got a lot of community reaction wanting us to carry on," he said.

The festival is now scheduled for Saturday, June 5, with a possible extension to the June 4 evening as well.

Last fall, the club announced it had tentatively decided not to hold the event this summer. "We watched the attendance and our profits go down," said Hutchings.

After searching out some advice on the event, Hutchings said the club decided to make some changes and go ahead.
