Library ends '03 in the black

The Weyburn Public Library is going into the year 2004 with net assets of $1,250 in the black, after successfully paying for and opening the new children's reading area.

In a report in the Weyburn Review on Feb. 11 from the library's annual meeting, it was erroneously stated that the library ended the year with a deficit of $2,343, and that it was due to the improvement of the children's area.

While in the year's overall operations, the library did spend $2,343 more than the revenues they received in 2003, the library also started the year off with $3,593. These monies covered the shortfall between the expenditures and revenues and cancelled the year-end deficit.

The net assets of $1,250 are comprised of $339 in cash, and $911 in GST receivable.
