Snowmobile racer 'King of the Ice'

Local snowmobile racer Mike Dorsch, 19, won first place in four divisions, including the "King of the Ice" division, at the ice drags on Sunday in Fort Qu'Appelle.

Dorsch took two sleds with him to Fort Qu'Appelle, where he competed in five divisions: 600 open modified, 700, 800, 1000 and the King of the Ice division, where sleds of any kind can be entered.

Dorsch placed first in four divisions and second in one division. He won the King of the Ice class using an 800cc sled, considerably smaller than other sleds entered.

This was the first tournament Dorsch has entered this year. He is the only snowmobiler from this area to ever compete in the ISR World Series in the U.S.
