The Weyburn Public Library will start a new series of programs for the month of March. Three programs on fitness will be held, beginning with the Fitness Fours on Tuesday, March 9 at 7-8:30 p.m., when instructor Jennifer Hicks will present the four components of exercise. On Tuesday, March 16, at 7 p.m. the same presenter will explain how to use various equipment in the home to develop a tailored fitness program. On Tuesday, March 23, at 7 p.m., the program, from Jennifer Hicks and Cory-Lynn McIvor, will focus on managing stress with new and alternative methods. The library will also present information on computers, cars and divorce law during March. Computers will be the subject on Monday, March 15 at 7 p.m.; on Wednesday, March 17 at 2 p.m.; on Monday April 5 at 7 p.m., and Wednesday, April 7 at 2 p.m. Participants will learn how to set up an e-mail account and learn about the Internet. A session on divorce law will be held at the library on Wednesday, March 17 at 7 p.m. Weyburn lawyer Greg Bobbitt will discuss the legal end to a marriage and the methods used by the court to determine custody, access, maintenance and division of family property. A session on buying a car and another on knowing your car will be held on Tuesday, March 23 at 7 p.m. and the following week on Tuesday, March 30 at 7 p.m. In both cases, Mal Barber will present the information. Librarian Michele Fedyk said both sessions should be a lot of fun for people who are a little intimidated by their car. The second evening will be a hands-on one held partly in the Southeast Regional Library's heated garage. "It won't be just a formal presentation," she said. "People will be able to roll up their sleeves and get right in there." Participants are asked to wear around-home clothing to the second session Michelle Erickson is the winner of the How Do I Love Thee poetry contest held at the library for Valentine's Day. Fedyk said the winner was selected from over 20 entries with the assistance of the Weyburn Writer's Group. |
