Taylor Snider, on the left, finishes his paper mâche
project on Wednesday afternoon, along with classmates Hannah
Scrupps, Jade Rooney, and Matthew Pokletar in Renee Krafchuk's
Grade 4 class at St. Dominic Savio Elementary School.
Assiniboia Park students Jordan Bill and Starlet Peterson
show artifacts along with their information display about the
Assiniboine tribe, at the school's Heritage Fair on Wednesday.
Jordan is holding a hammer head and Starlet is holding an old
axe head, found by Starlet's great-grandfather on his farm. The
display gave information about where and how the aboriginal tribe
lived on the prairies. There were 57 displays at the fair altogether,
and eight will be chosen to advance to the Regional Heritage
Fair in Regina in May. The eight winning displays will be shown
to Lt.-Gov. Lynda Haverstock when she visits the school on Friday,
April 23.
