Cleaning up for Earth Day

Grade 4 students and their teacher, Susan Robertson, search the school grounds of St. Dominic Savio for refuse, as part of the schoolyard-wide cleanup for Earth Day, which was celebrated Thursday. Over 300 students and staff scoured the grounds around the school for their annual spring cleanup, an effort that will be repeated at other schools and throughout the city in May as part of the city-wide cleanup campaign.

Receiving the Lt.-Governor's pin

Lieutenant-Governor Lynda Haverstock affixes a pin with the official flag of her vice-regal position to the collar of Brooke Kwochka, following a program at Assiniboia Park School on Friday morning. Brooke was the emcee for the program, put on for the Lieutenant-Governor's visit to the school. Looking on are the two student aides-de-camp, Jayme Nagy and Mitchell Hill. The vice-regal also viewed the eight winning entries from the school's recent Heritage Fair, which will be going to the Regional Heritage Fair in Regina in May, and had lunch with the staff.
