Two members of the Soo Line Boxing Club fought at a boxing card in Regina on Saturday.

Matthew Geske of Midale fought in his first bout against Mark Rondeau of Winnipeg, Man. Rondeau, whose brother is a two-time Canadian junior champion, was fighting his second bout.

Geske's defence was excellent against Rondeau and he mixed in a good offense. Ultimately, Geske won the fight 9-5, though both boxers were impressive considering their limited experience.

Attley Roettger of Weyburn fought Leslie Pasqua of Regina in the second bout. Roettger stayed within one point in the first two rounds, but Pasqua pulled away in the third round. Pasqua was in top shape as he just returned from Cadet Nationals in Ontario, where he represented Saskatchewan.

The Soo Line Boxing Club meets Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Weyburn Youth Centre.
