Guessing the optical illusion

Leaders Raylene Horsman and Dayna Ness, at right, show one of a series of optical illusions to test the group's powers of observation on Thursday. The girls take part in the summer program, Just for Girls, held twice weekly at the Signal Hill Arts Centre. In this illusion, viewers were asked to determined if the central dot is a different size in the two pictures. (The answer: the dot is the same size in both.)

Games mural at the pool

Lisa Styles and Nicole Squires, lifeguards at the Weyburn Leisure Centre, paint the logo for the 2004 Saskatchewan Summer Games on the deck near the outdoor swimming pool on Wednesday. The girls painted this to replace a smaller one that was up at the pool, and may add another logo at the pool before the Games get underway on Aug. 8.
