Unloading athletes' beds

Volunteer Melissa Renz grabs a bed pallet stacked outside the Weyburn Comprehensive School and carries it inside to be wheeled to one of the many classrooms being used as dormitories for the 2004 Saskatchewan Summer Games. The Athletes' Village was set up from Wednesday to Friday at the Comp and Queen Elizabeth Schools, to handle the 1,800 athletes expected for the week-long event, which runs Aug. 8 to 14 in and around Weyburn.

Congratulations are due

Lang Angel Blair Beck (left) congratulates teammate Murray Schultz as he returns to the dugout after hitting a home run. The Lang Angels were playing the Holdfast Trappers on Sunday afternoon as part of the Senior AA Provincials, which ran Friday to Monday at Tom Laing Park in Weyburn. The Angels defeated Holdfast 8-7.
