The student summer job service at Canada Human Resources in Weyburn Square Mall closed its doors for the season on Friday.

But not before the two employment officers reported they took a total of 146 job orders this summer for students in the area.

That's up from 118 in 2003.

"We got great support from the community and businesses," said Holly MacKenzie.

She and Letitia Hemingson have been staffing the office since it opened in May. Hemingson said students either come into the office to see the job listings or check the list from home on the Internet.

Both of the officers are students themselves and will return to their respective universities for the fall session.

During the summer, they were also busy raising funds for the Big Brothers and Sisters Association. After three barbecues for the public in the mall's courtyard, they raised $385 for the organization.
