A former art teacher at the Weyburn Comprehensive School, Eltje Degenhart, and Jack Gravner of Regina will be the adjudicators for a local art adjudication in Weyburn on Nov. 5. The adjudication is being presented by the Weyburn Arts Council and the Organization of Saskatchewan Arts Councils (OSAC). The Arts Council is now putting out a call for submissions to the local adjudicated art show. The show will be on display at the Signal Hill Art Gallery from Oct. 12 to Nov. 5. Artists with two- and three-dimensional work are invited to register for this program. There are two categories to enter: the first, Category A, is for artists who have completed five works in the past three years. Those in Category A will be considered for OSAC's Artist Development Weekend and Provincial Exhibition. Those works selected at the provincial level will be part of touring exhibits around Saskatchewan. The second Category B is for artists with fewer than five art works, and who would like a critique and an opportunity to exhibit but not be considered for provincials. Entries should be submitted as soon as possible. Weyburn's adjudicated art show is the first level of exhibition in the OSAC "Arts on the Move" program. Artists will be chosen to have their work adjudicated at the provincial level in Regina during April of 2005. For more information regarding the adjudicated art show or to request a brochure, call the Signal Hill Arts Centre. |
