Three tourneys coming up at Wheatland Srs. Centre

The Wheatland Seniors Centre has three tournaments coming up for the balance of September, along with their regular schedule of games and activities.

A snooker tournament will be held on Thursday, Sept. 9 at 12:30 p.m., followed by a shuffleboard tourney on Tuesday, Sept. 21, starting at 9:30 a.m., and a hi-low whist match on Wednesday, Sept. 22, at 7:30 p.m.

A cribbage tournament was held on Saturday at the centre with Keith Eichel and Sam Murray in first place, George Gillies and Andy Goeres in second, and Audrey Kessler and Irene Martin in third.

In bridge held on Monday, Eleanora Schikurski won first, Kay Wanner placed second and Mildred Sandiford came in third. On Friday, Lucie Nickel won first, Brendine Mitchell came second and Erskine Sandiford was third.

In trump whist, Pearl Fox won first, Joyce Hemphill placed second and Eileen Langedahl was tied for third with Birdie McKenzie.

Placing first in canasta was Doris Atter, with Mae Adolph in second and Elsie Bouchard in third.

In hi-low whist, Gordon Lindskog and Elfrieda Mantay won first, followed by Elmer Petersen and Eleanora Schikurski in second, and Walter Fowler and Lloyd Soroka in third.

Winning first in cribbage on Thursday was Marnie Leonard and Kay Backman, with Elmer Petersen and John Wanner placing second, and Gordon Lindskog and Paul Bourassa coming third.
