Flower and vegetable sale

Donna Skjerdal takes money from a trio of Grade 1 students checking out the flower, vegetable and baked goods sale at Haig School on Wednesday morning. The sale was put on by the local Home and School Association.

At poolside ca. 1930s

Isabelle Eaglesham, far right, sits with son Hughie next to her, and Jim McGillivray to the left of Hughie. The boy at far left is unidentified. The group were enjoying the warm sun and the cool waters of the Young Fellows' swimming pool some time in the early 1930s, which was built by the service organization in 1931 at the height of the Great Depression. This pool served the city for many years before the current Leisure Centre was built on its site.
