Isabelle Eaglesham, far right, sits with son Hughie
next to her, and Jim McGillivray to the left of Hughie. The boy
at far left is unidentified. The group were enjoying the warm
sun and the cool waters of the Young Fellows' swimming pool some
time in the early 1930s, which was built by the service organization
in 1931 at the height of the Great Depression. This pool served
the city for many years before the current Leisure Centre was
built on its site. |
