A new playground for Souris

Volunteers and Souris Elementary School principal Mark Pachiorka, bottom right, spent a beautiful fall Saturday erecting a 42 foot by 37 foot addition to the school's playground. The parent association, parents, and the Sunrise School Board all helped to raise funds for the new equipment, said Pachiorka. A pea gravel surface will be spread under the equipment this week. Volunteers who worked on Saturday include Ron Allen, Cory Zadorozniak, Scott Bill, Ian Allen, Jonathan Martin, Joey Maas, and Jason Helfrick.

Pride in being Canadian

Members of the Grade 5 class at St. Dominic Savio show their pride in being Canadian, as the school held Canadian Pride Day recently. The day was held to celebrate Canada's victory in the World Cup of Hockey, and the Canadian Idol competition . In theback row from left are Russell Lenferna, Riley Loreth and Mandy Potuer. In the middle row are Jordan Johner, Taylor Snider, Regan Mus, Colleen Cretin and Breanne Walkeden; and in front, Derrick Pouliot and Alexis Larson.
