New Age Electronics is finalist for ABEX Award

Weyburn's first-ever Business of the Year award winner, New Age Electronics Inc., is a finalist in the provincial Achievement for Business Excellence (ABEX) Awards.

The ABEX Awards are sponsored by the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce, and the awards dinner and ceremonies will be held in Regina on Saturday, Oct. 23 at the Queensbury Centre.

New Age qualified as a nominee for an ABEX Award after winning the overall title of Business of the Year at the first Weybex Awards held in June by the Weyburn Chamber of Commerce. The company had also won the New/Expanded Business category.

New Age was selected to be a finalist in the Job Creation category at the ABEX Awards, and will be going up against companies from Moose Jaw, Prince Albert, Assiniboia and Regina.

The finalists were chosen by a panel of past Chamber presidents, and an independent jury will select the winners in each category, and the finalist with the best overall rating will be named Business of the Year for Saskatchewan.

The ABEX Awards are now in their 21st year, and provide provincial recognition in such categories as New Saskatchewan Product, New Venture, Physical Environment, Community Involvement, Marketing, Service Industry, Investment and Exports.
