A collector of radios

Jerry Dickison shows the pullout turntable in a vintage radio console, part of his collection of some 1,200 radios housed in his basement. The radio he's showing is an RCA Victrola from 1935, and included a second smaller turntable in the drawer above this one, as well as AM, FM and shortwave radio bands, powered by 21 vacuum tubes. A prairie icon falls

The Paterson grain elevator in Yellow Grass comes down during demolition of the structure on Wednesday. This demolition leaves the town with one elevator, owned by Agricore United, along the CPR line by Highway 39.
