The WIT Wings met the Swift Current Subway Select Broncos for the first time this season on Saturday afternoon.

The Wings were down 3-1 by the first period, but closed the gap to one goal in the second. However, Weyburn couldn't hold it together in the third and lost out 10-7.

Kelly Oberkirsch led the Wings with two goals, with Dayton Picard, Zach Douglas, Brendan Ryan, Lyndon Lumb and Derrick Pouliot picking up singles.

Tucker Neuberger had two assists, while Josh Lees, Matt Coupal, Brayden Leslie, Donavon Lumb and Lyndon contributed single assists.

With the players spreading the points around, it was obvious that the team was working hard on Saturday. Fan support was good.

The Wings will host the Estevan Starpoint Energy Bruins on Saturday, Oct. 20, at the Sports Arena at 2 p.m. They have another home game with Estevan on Sunday, Oct. 21, at 3:15 p.m., also at the Sports Arena.
