WIT Wings split pair at home with Estevan Bruins

The Weyburn WIT Wings split a pair of home games with the Estevan Starpoint Energy Bruins this weekend, with both matches being decided by one goal.

Both games were at the Sports Arena. The first game ended in a 4-3 victory for Estevan, who was tied with Weyburn 2-2 at the end of the second period.

The Wings' goals were scored by Derrick Pouliot, Donavon Lumb and Josh Lees. Dayton Picard picked up two assists.

Despite the loss, the Wings were determined not to let another win slip away on Sunday afternoon. They came out strong and worked hard, demonstrating some good teamwork.

At the end of the first period, they were down 4-3, but Weyburn rallied in the second to end the period 6-6. In the third period, the Wings notched the game-winning goal and kept Estevan from scoring again, ending the match with a score of 7-6.

Kelly Oberkirsch and Tucker Neuberger led Weyburn with two goals each, while Picard, Pouliot and Zach Douglas had one goal each.

Brayden Leslie assisted on four goals, Oberkirsch assisted twice, and Neuberger and Lees had single assists.

The Wings won't be playing any league games until Nov. 20. However, they will be playing an exhibition match at the Sports Arena this weekend at 2 p.m.
