Two members of Vilcu's Karate Klub, Brett Vilcu and Robyn Herlick, brought home four gold and one silver medal from the Medicine Hat Open in Alberta over the weekend.

Herlick was entered in the age 16-17 orange-green belt category, competing against men and women. She won gold in kata, sparring and weapons sparring.

Vilcu was entered in the adult black belt category. He won gold in kata and silver in sparring.

Out of a possible five gold medals, they brought home four.

A total of 217 competitors, mostly from around Alberta and some from Saskatchewan, entered the tournament.

The next competition for Vilcu's Karate Klub members will be in Swift Current on Saturday, Dec. 4.
