The Midale Marauders senior girls volleyball team ended their competitive year with a fourth place finish at provincials, and a final total of 83 wins and 28 losses on the season. The Midale girls qualified for provincials by winning first place at the 2A Girls' Regional Volleyball tournament, hosted at Midale Central School on Nov. 19-20. Midale lost only two sets out of 12 throughout the weekend. They defeated Coronach, Briercrest, Arcola, Montmartre and Lipton to advance to the provincials hosted by Fox Valley and Leader over the Nov. 26-27 weekend. The other two teams to advance were Lipton and Montmartre. In provincial play on Friday, Midale defeated Montmartre in three sets by scores of 21-25, 28-26 and 25-14. In their second match, they defeated Paradise Hill with scores of 30-28 and 25-17. In the last match of the day, the Marauders lost to Holdfast by scores of 27-29 and 17-25. On Saturday they travelled to Leader, where they defeated Eatonia in straight sets, 25-16 and 25-13. In the last match of the round-robin, they defeated Leask by scores of 25-13 and 25-5. They advanced to the quarter-finals against Lucky Lake. Midale won the first set 25-16, lost the second 20-25 and then took the third 25-20, putting them in the semi-finals for the first time. They lost to Kenaston in straight sets by the score of 19-25 in both games. The girls then met up with Holdfast in the bronze medal match, and lost to them in straight sets, 12-25 and 18-25. Bri-Anna Messer, Kelsey Peterson, Kelsey Adderley, Tricia Martinson
and Tegan Penny. The manager was Spencer Oesch with coaches Jo-Anne
