Entries are now being called for the 22nd annual James Weir People's Choice Exhibition, which will go on display throughout the month of January, 2005. The exhibition, presented by the Weyburn Arts Council and the Southeast Saskatchewan Association for Culture, Recreation and Sport (SESACRS), gives amateur artists from the southeast region the opportunity to display their work in the Allie Griffin Art Gallery. The exhibition will run from Jan. 5 to 31, 2005, and gallery visitors are invited to vote for their favourite pieces. A reception and awards night will be held on Jan. 31 at 7 p.m. Entries will be accepted from artists and craftspeople throughout the Zone 1 region, which includes the communities of Weyburn, Stoughton, Radville, McTaggart, Yellow Grass, Lang, Milestone, Fillmore, Creelman, Wilcox, Riceton, Cedoux, Corning, Pangman, Khedive, Trossachs, Griffin, Ceylon, Goodwater, Gladmar, Minton, Lake Alma, Oungre, Tribune, Colgate, Forget, Hardy, Heward, Handsworth, Kronau, Lajord, Osage, Ratcliffe, Talmage, Tyvan, Beaubier, Bromhead, Bechard, Colfax, Davin, Dummer, Estlin, Froude, Gray, Lewvan and Maxim. Entry forms are available at the Weyburn Public Library at 45 Bison Ave., or the Signal Hill Arts Centre at 424-10th Ave. South. The deadline for entries is Friday, Dec. 17. Call the Signal Hill Arts Centre to have an entry form mailed to you. |
