Salvation Army kicks off campaign

On Friday, the Salvation Army kicked off their Christmas kettle campaign fund-raiser.

From now until Dec. 24, kettles will be located at the Canadian Tire, Wal-Mart and the Weyburn Co-op.

People can also mail in donations using the envelopes that were distributed in Saturday's edition of the Booster.

Capt. Raelene Russell said the Salvation Army will be holding their community Christmas dinner on Wednesday, Dec. 22, at 4:30 p.m. Mr. Ribs is again hosting the dinner this year.

People can pre-register for the dinner by contacting the church.

Russell said they are also looking for toy donations, which people can either bring down to the church, or through the Angels Anonymous tree at the Dairy Queen.

During this time of year, the Salvation Army is always in need of donations of food as well, which can be brought down to their Fourth Street location.

The Salvation Army will be holding three additional days to register for Christmas hampers this week.

The additional days are today, Thursday and Friday, Dec. 1-3.

Those wanting to register for Christmas hampers can come down to the Salvation Army church at 126 Fourth St. N. between 1-4 p.m.

Anyone wanting more information about the program can contact the Salvation Army office, as listed in the phone book.
