The Weyburn Music Festival will be earlier this year, and will have an early deadline as a result, on Monday, Jan. 17, 2005.

The festival will be held earlier due to the early date of Easter this year, said Cindy Bell, president of the Music Festival Association, and no late entries will be accepted this year.

The 2005 Music Festival is slated for Feb. 28 to March 18, 2005, spread over three weeks like in 2004. Piano competition will run from Feb. 28 to March 4, band from March 7 to 11, and vocal will go from March 14 to 18, with the Stars of the Festival to be held at the Comp Cafetorium on March 23.

Entry forms are available at the schools or from Music Craft.

June Fletcher is the entry secretary for vocal and band entries, while Marga Cugnet is entry secretary for piano.

The next meeting of the Music Festival executive will be held on Monday, Feb. 7 at 7:30 p.m. in the Comp library. The festival programs will be made available after that meeting.
