Making the most of a sunny day

Students at Souris School crowd together on the small snowhill located in the school's playground during noon hour recess on Thursday. This hill came courtesy of a snowplow clearing snow away from the front of the school. School started last Wednesday around Weyburn, but the bitterly cold temperatures kept students inside on the first day of school. Thursday was considerably warmer, however, allowing students to go outside again.

Chess club

Haig chess club members Dustin Forseth and Carson Skjerdal square off in a game of chess over the lunch hour on Wednesday. This was the first day of school in Weyburn, though it was also one of the coldest days of the year; many elementary school students were stuck indoors during recess periods.
